The relationship between alcohol use and suicide attempt is noteworthy, behaviours that are closely linked. Evidence of this is found in countless studies carried out in populations of people with alcohol dependence who have completed or attempted suicide, and who were under the effects of alcohol. To carry out the present study, a sample of 1633 subjects who attended the emergency services of the Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias (HUCA) was used. A descriptive cross-sectional epidemiological analysis was carried out. For this, a community cross-sectional sample study was designed. The general objectives are to explore the relationship between alcohol use and suicidal behaviours, in case the former is significant in inducing the latter. The results were collected and evaluated using the SPSS statistical package.
