The impact on the mental health of healthcare professionals during COVID-19

Abstract

Objective: to examine the psychological impacts on the mental health of healthcare professionals during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) period. Methodology: a review of electronic databases: PubMed, Medline, Web of Science and the CUIDEN nursing bibliographic database, using the search terms «COVID-19», «coronavirus», «SARS-CoV-2», «mental health», «nurse», «insomnia», «anxiety», «staff», «health workers» and «review», in works published between December 2019 and May 2020 and limited to English, Spanish and Catalan. Results: of the 22 articles included in the review, a significant psychological impact on healthcare professionals was identified.
