Applied and community-based theatre has become established as an innovative tool for promoting mental health and preventing mental health problems. The “És Bo Xerrar de Ment” (EBXDM) project emerged from nursing practice as a health education initiative that integrates the performing arts with emotional communication and community action. Through five lessons—identity and thoughts, cognitive distortions, environment, decision-making, and the healthcare system—the play presents key concepts related to psychological well-being and emotional self-care in a clear and accessible manner.
The initiative combines theatrical performance with digital and educational resources, extending its impact beyond the stage. The initial assessment indicates a high level of acceptance among audiences and mental health professionals, highlighting its value as a tool for raising awareness and reducing stigma. EBXDM thus represents an initiative that brings together research, nursing practice, and the community to build a more participatory and accessible culture of mental health.
