Review of effective treatments in schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is understood as a chronic and highly disabling psychiatric condition. Quality of life is affected at the social, occupational and family level, generating serious consequences for the person who suffers from it, for relatives and for the people around them. The purpose of this review is the analysis of the literature from 2000 to 2016 in relation to the management of schizophrenia in the acute and maintenance phases, both with antipsychotics and with psychological therapy.
