Descriptive study of the readmission of patients with mental illness in the brief hospitalization unit of the Mérida hospital (Badajoz) of the Extremadura Health Service

Abstract

Hospital readmission is considered a global phenomenon, being a common circumstance in many of the hospitals that provide services for the care of people with acute mental illness. Despite this, in Extremadura a study of these characteristics had never been carried out. In it, through the use of variables used in other studies, as well as the incorporation of new ones, we try to make a description of the characteristics that define a readmitting patient.
