The economic crisis that was triggered from 2008 onwards worldwide is causing devastating effects on the health of the population, especially mental health. This translates into an increase in consultations at primary care, mental health and basic social services settings. This article presents a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory and phenomenological study with content analysis, in which the exploratory hypothesis put forward is confirmed, since, indeed, the situation of economic crisis, which takes the concrete form of loss of employment, has adverse effects on the mental health of the people affected. Finally, the project to combat poverty and the risk of social exclusion carried out with the social dynamization groups is briefly presented.
