This nursing project on quality of life and physical health in patients with severe mental disorder is designed to be carried out in medium-stay units, a hospital resource of continuous care and limited stay oriented primarily to covering the needs and rehabilitation of these patients, who require a controlled approach in a structured environment. The main objective is to improve physical health, mental health and cognition and, with this, to increase the quality of life of the admitted patient, through a series of psychoeducational programmes and interventions that make it possible to address their needs by acting mainly on modifiable risk factors. The methodology is organized in successive phases of screening and assessment (anthropometric measurements, laboratory tests and scales of adherence, consumption, quality of life and symptoms), formulation of NANDA nursing diagnoses with NOC objectives and NIC interventions, assignment to health education, weight control, physical activity and activities of daily living workshops, and periodic evaluation with a view to discharge.
